Patchy outbreaks of rain in the north and west slowly move eastwards today. By mid afternoon showery rain is likely across much of the UK, although it should remain dry in the south east. Amounts of rain in the south more generally will be small. Quite windy.

Tonight:
Patchy outbreaks of rain clear southeastwards, leaving clear periods in much of the UK. However, there will be scattered showers.

Tomorrow:
Dry and bright conditions across much of the UK, with just a few scattered showers. Temperatures will be similar to recent days.

Saturday: Heavy outbreaks of rain steadily push southwards and fragment. Amounts of rain in the south will probably be small. In Scotland it turns drier in the afternoon.

Outlook: Mixed. Showers or longer spells of rain are likely, particularly in the north and west. In southern and eastern areas it could become warm in dry and bright spells. High pressure is likely to have quite a lot of influence across southern and possibly central areas through the middle part of the week, while an Atlantic flow keeps things more mixed in the north.
