Brian is the founder of TheWeatherOutlook. He first became interested in the weather during the long hot summer of 1976, although he is told the first thing he saw after being born and leaving the hospital was heavy snow. Perhaps that's where his lifelong love of snow originated!
Brian is an expert in using Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) data sets, the basis of modern day weather forecasting, to produce weather forecasts and analysis. He has developed software solutions for commercial organisations as well as founding TheWeatherOutlook website.
He has integrated a huge number of NWP data sets into the website from leading national forecasting centres such as the UK Met Office, National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), Meteo France and Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD). His aim has always been to provide innovative and user friendly ways to view complex data as well as accurate weather forecasts.
He is often quoted in the national newspapers and has made a number of appearances on the BBC and Times Radio.
In a previous life he worked as a software consultant in the City of London providing design and development expertise to leading Investment Banks and financial institutions.
In his spare time Brian enjoys cricket, skiing, walking, fish and chips and a decent pint of ale.
