About TheWeatherOutlook (TWO)

Site overview

The purpose of the site is to freely provide weather forecasts and data for the UK and selected overseas locations. The key points of the philosophy behind it are:

  • 1) Keep the site jargon free
  • 2) Make the forecasts and data as easy as possible to understand so that no specialist knowledge is required
  • 3) Make navigation of the site as easy as possible so that you can get what you want in the minimum number of clicks

To ensure a consistently high level of performance the web site is run on two dedicated physical servers hosted in Britain.

All web page and software development for the site is done in Britain.

This means our running costs are higher than they would be if we moved our hosting and development overseas, but the quality of service we can offer you is better, and by supporting us, you are supporting British jobs.

Business Model

The site is owned and operated by Technimatch Ltd. Access to all of the site is free. With the exception of parts of the discussion forum, no registration is required.

  • 1) If you are registered with the forum we will never release the information you provided to third parties for mailing or marketing purposes.
  • 2) If you are not registered we are unable to identify you as an individual

The site generates income primarily from advertising, and therefore it is essential for us to be able to track site usage, and whether new features and pages added to it are popular or not. To do this we use a tool called Google Analytics which is the industry standard.

It is our intention to keep access to the site free in future, and unlike many other weather and content based sites, we are not planning on introducing a subscription model. This will only be possible if we can keep growing and providing pages and content which are used by a large number of people.
