Bank holiday Monday will bring mixed weather across the UK, and the changeable theme is expected to continue through the coming week. The wettest conditions will often be in the north, while high pressure brings drier and warmer conditions at times across southern and central areas.

Showers clearing

Showers continue today, but they become progressively more scattered and focused on eastern counties. Therefore, many places can expect a dry afternoon, although patchy outbreaks of rain will push into Northern Ireland. Breezy.

Tomorrow:
Southern and central areas have a dry and quite warm day. In the north it's a more mixed picture with showery spells of rain which turn heavy at times, particularly later on in Northern Ireland.

Wednesday: Showery rain affects much of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Scotland should be mostly dry.

Outlook: Changeable weather continues as disturbances move in from the Atlantic. They bring the likelihood of further showers or longer spells of rain, but there will be drier and warmer spells too, especially in the south.
