Heavy showery spells of rain push eastwards through the course of the day. There will be bright spells too, particularly early on in the east and the south east where it could remain mostly dry. Also, in northern Scotland it probably remains mostly dry. Windy in the south west.

Tonight:
The rain turns increasingly showery, leaving mostly dry conditions inland. Quite windy in southern and western coastal counties. 

Tomorrow:
Showers are most likely to persist in eastern Britain. In the west it becomes mostly dry and there should be some bright intervals. Quite windy.

Tuesday: Outbreaks of rain push into the north west of the UK. In other areas there should be a good deal of dry weather, although scattered showers are expected. Warmer than in recent days.

Outlook: Changeable weather continues as disturbances move in from the Atlantic. They bring the likelihood of further showers or longer spells of rain, but there will be drier and warmer spells too, especially in the south.
