The unsettled spell continues today with yet more rain in much of the UK. Things are changing though and it will be turning a good deal colder in the coming days. Valentine's Day is expected to be mostly dry and cold, but on Sunday outbreaks of rain will push eastwards and increasingly turn to snow as they bump into the colder air.
Issued 10th February 2026
Showers or longer spells of rain affect south western Britain and Northern Ireland. They edge northeastwards through the day. There is also an area of rain and hill snow in north eastern Britain which slowly sinks southwards, allowing drier and brighter conditions to develop in central and northern Scotland. In the south west brighter skies return this afternoon, but there will be further showers.
Temperatures range from 5°C in northern Scotland to 12°C in the south west. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.
