Early September continues to look mixed

The mixed weather will continue through the coming days. The wettest conditions will generally be in central and northern areas, with amounts of rain in the south generally remaining quite small. Temperatures vary, but it will become very warm at times in the south, and it's not out of the question that 30°C could be reached on Sunday.

Rain pushing into the north west

Most places remain dry this morning with variable amounts of cloud, although there will be scattered showers. Through the afternoon outbreaks of rain push across Northern Ireland and northern England, with showers becoming more widespread in Scotland. Southern and central regions stay dry and bright.

Temperatures range from 13°C in the north west to a very warm 27°C in the south east. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Heavy outbreaks of rain edge southwards across Wales and northern England, reaching central areas by the morning. In the south it will be dry and muggy. Cooler and showery in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Tomorrow:
A fragmenting and narrowing band of rain slowly clears southeastwards. Areas to its north have sunny spells and scattered showers. Cooler in the south than today.

Saturday: Dry and bright in southern and central regions. Scattered showers continue in the north, and in the afternoon more persistent outbreaks of rain spread across Northern Ireland and into northwestern Britain.

Outlook: Very warm for a time in central and eastern England. In the north and west showers or longer spells of rain continue. They steadily push southeastwards, introducing cooler conditions in the process. Changeable weather are expected through the middle part of next week. A northwesterly flow could lead to rather cool conditions.
