Evening downpours in Berkhamsted. Posted by Brian Gaze

The new week starts with dry conditions across most of the UK, but things will steadily change. An area of low pressure will deepen and push up from the southwest in the coming days, bringing the potential for significant amounts of rain across much of the UK. Flash flooding may become an issue in places.

Outlook: Rather unsettled weather is expected as areas of low pressure deepen and move up from the southwest. They bring the likelihood of significant amounts of rain, especially to southern and central regions which are most in need of it.
