Temperatures rise too but a return to the hot conditions experienced for much of this summer is not expected. Next week the weather is likely to turn unsettled, with the potential for significant amounts of rain in southern and central regions. 14 day weather forecast video Issued 4th August 2026 Dry in much of the UK Much of the UK has a dry day but there will be exceptions. To begin with there will be a few scattered showers, but most of these steadily fade away. However, in the north west of the UK cloud builds and patchy outbreaks of rain develop. Any remaining showers elsewhere ease, leaving dry conditions. Clear periods lead to a rather chilly night, especially in the north and west.
