Rain on the way to most of the UK By Brian Gaze [Published 07:20 18/08/2026] Low pressure rather than high pressure will be driving the weather across the UK in the coming days. That means rain is on the way and, although it will do little to alleviate the shortages, it should help to reduce the wildfire risk. However, by the weekend, more settled conditions are likely to return. 14 day weather forecast video Issued 4th August 2026 Mixed across the UK Patchy spells of rain steadily clear southeastwards, leaving dry conditions across much of the UK. However, there will be scattered showers in Wales, northwestern England and Northern Ireland. In Scotland, showers could merge to give longer spells of rain at times. Temperatures range from 14°C in northern Scotland to 25°C in the south. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.
