Patchy spells of rain affect Scotland and Northern Ireland through the day, with some heavier bursts in western areas. In the rest of the UK there will be a lot of dry and bright weather, although there could be a few sharp showers in East Anglia and the south-eastern corner.

Tonight:
Showers continue in northern and western parts of the UK. Elsewhere it will be dry with variable amounts of cloud. 

Tomorrow:
Heavy spells of rain spread eastwards across northern and possibly central areas. In southern Britain it stays dry and warm.

Tuesday: There is a possibility of outbreaks of rain developing in the south. However, there is uncertainty about their extent and intensity, although some models suggest they will turn heavy and thundery in places. The north has a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers.

Outlook: Changeable conditions develop. All areas could see some rain, but amounts are likely to be greatest in the north and west. Temperatures are expected to be closer to average than they have been recently, especially in the south..
