Heatwave conditions next week By Brian Gaze [Published 12:50 08/08/2026] Southern and central regions can expect a hot weekend, but in the north it remains cooler and more changeable. Temperatures dip on Monday before quickly climbing again, with heatwave conditions likely to develop. It's possible that next week will bring some of the hottest weather of what has already been a record-breaking summer. 14 day weather forecast video Issued 4th August 2026 Hot in central and eastern England Outbreaks of rain affect Scotland and Northern Ireland, becoming heavy at times. Showers are also possible in other northern and western parts of the UK. Elsewhere, it will be dry with sunny periods. However, it remains dry with clear periods in much of England and Wales. Outlook: Temperatures quickly climb, probably reaching the mid-30s°C in southern and central areas, so heatwave conditions are expected. The warmth is expected to extend northwards for a time, with temperatures in Scotland climbing into the mid-20s°C. However, it is likely to remain more changeable in the north-west..
