Thundery showers in the north

Heavy and thundery showers affect the north again today, but it remains dry in the south. Temperatures are returning towards average in the south, although the cooler conditions aren't expected to last long. Through the weekend it will probably become very warm again.

Heavy showers in the north

Heavy and thundery showers push across the northern half of the UK. In southern and central areas it remains dry and bright. Quite windy, particularly in northern England.

Temperatures range from 14°C in northern Scotland to 27°C in East Anglia. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Showers fade away, although a few are likely to persist in central areas of the UK. Rather cool in the north.

Tomorrow:
Showers will be few and far between, with most places remaining dry. Later in the day patchy outbreaks of rain start pushing into the far north west. Temperatures will be close to the norm.

Friday: Wet and windy in the far north west. Fine and warm in other regions.

Outlook: High pressure keeps it mostly dry in the south. In central and northern areas it's a changeable picture with showers or longer spells of rain at times. Temperatures often quite close to the norm in the north, but very warm or even hot in the south.
