Mixed but very hot in the south

Heavy outbreaks of rain in the north increasingly become confined to northern Scotland. However, there will be further showers in the north and west, some of which could push into central England. Despite this,it remains dry and very hot across much of southern, central and eastern England.

Tonight:
Heavy and thundery showers spread across much of the north and west. One again it stays largely dry in southern, central and eastern England. 

Tomorrow:
Showers are possible in much of the UK, but the heaviest ones clear northeastwards through the morning. Generally warm and still hot in central and eastern England.

Wednesday: Showers are expected to be quite widespread, and in the north more persistent outbreaks of rain are possible. Cooler and fresher than recently, though still warm in eastern England.

Outlook: Changeable conditions with showery spells of rain at times, mostly in the north and west. Temperatures will generally be quite close to the norm, but it probably remains warm in central and eastern counties.
