Mixed outlook but rain remains hit and miss By Brian Gaze [Published 06:40 02/08/2026] The weather across the UK as a whole will be mixed during the next few days. Very warm or hot weather will continue across much of southern, central and eastern Britain. However, outbreaks of rain affect the north and west, with heavy showers potentially developing elsewhere. By late afternoon patchy rain starts pushing into Northern Ireland. Temperatures range from 17°C in the north west to a hot and humid 29°C in the south.
