Cloudy conditions pushing southwards

Cloud and light showers in central areas slowly push southwards through the day. By mid-afternoon, much of southern and central England will be overcast, although in the far south east it could still be sunny. Rainfall amounts will be negligible. Areas to the north and west have sunny spells, but showers push across Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Tonight:
Cloud and light showers in the south and East Anglia clear. Other areas have clear periods, but there will be further showers in the north west. 

Tomorrow:
Showery in the north; dry and bright in the south. Temperatures will be lower than recently in the south, but in the sun it still feels warm.

Saturday: Showery in the north, dry and bright in the south. Temperatures will be similar to yesterday's.

Outlook: Showers become more scattered in the north. Other areas will be dry with sunny periods, but in the afternoon outbreaks of rain may start pushing in from the west. Early next week, changeable conditions are expected, but forecast details remain very uncertain. Heavy, showery spells of rain are possible across the southern half of the UK, and consequently temperatures could vary considerably over short distances.
