Temperatures back into the mid 30Cs

Southern, central and eastern areas of England have a very hot day, with temperatures peaking in the mid-30s°C. Elsewhere, it will be more mixed and cooler. The rather changeable theme continues in the coming days, and temperatures dip. However, rain remains a rare sight in the south.

Very hot in the south

Showery rain affects the north and western Wales today. Other areas have a dry day, with the best of the sunshine in southern, central and eastern England where it becomes very hot.

Temperatures range from 15°C in the north west to 35°C in the south. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight:
Patchy spells of rain push into northern England and Wales. Ahead of them it stays dry and warm, but cloud amounts increase. Clear spells follow to the north, but heavy outbreaks of rain spread into northern and western Scotland.

Tomorrow:
Overcast conditions push down into the south, and there could be a few spots of rain. Brighter conditions follow into central areas. Much of the north has sunny spells, but heavy outbreaks of rain continue in the northern half of Scotland. Very warm in the south and East Anglia, cooler elsewhere.

Friday: Showery in the north; dry and bright in the south. Temperatures will be lower than recently in the south, but it remains warm.

Outlook: A good deal of dry weather is likely at the weekend and it will still be warm. Early next week the risk of rain probably increases, but forecast details remain uncertain.
