Becoming very hot in the south

The mixed weather will continue in the coming days. However, rain will mostly be confined to the north and west, with rainfall totals in southern Britain remaining very low. The highest temperatures are expected tomorrow, with values peaking in the mid-30°Cs. Somewhat cooler conditions return on Thursday.

Hot in the south

Showery rain affects the north of the UK and western Wales today. Heavy bursts are likely at times in the north west. Other areas have a dry day, with the best of the sunshine in the south where it becomes very warm or hot.

Temperatures range from 15°C in the north west to 29°C in the south. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Rain continues in the north and west of the UK, with the heaviest of them in the north west. Elsewhere it remains dry with clear spells.

Tomorrow:
Outbreaks of rain will be slow moving in Scotland and Northern Ireland. England and Wales have a fine day and it turns very hot. Temperatures are expected to peak in the mid 30°Cs.

Thursday: Patchy rain clears southeastwards. Brighter conditions follow across southern and central areas, but heavy, showery bursts of rain are expected in Scotland. A few showers are also possible in northern England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Cooler and fresher.

Outlook: Changeable conditions persist. Showers or longer spells of rain mostly affect the north, but at times they could extend into Wales and western England. Southern, central and eastern areas remain largely dry, and by the weekend temperatures could be climbing again.
