Fresher today but more heat likely

Patchy outbreaks of rain clear, leaving dry and bright conditions in much of the UK, but there will be showers in places. Over the next few days it remains changeable in the north, but temperatures climb again in the south, with the potential for it to become very hot on Wednesday.

Showery rain clearing

Patchy outbreaks of rain clear southeastwards. Sunny spells develop in all regions, but there will be further showers, particularly in the north where a few may be heavy.

Feeling fresher than recently. Temperatures range from 13°C in the far north west to 26°C in the south east and East Anglia. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Showers in the north and east steadily fade away, but another area of rain moves into the north west by the morning. Southern and central regions remain dry.

Tomorrow:
Showery outbreaks of rain affect northern and western areas. Much of southern, central and eastern England remains dry. Very warm in the south east and East Anglia.

Tuesday: Very warm or hot in much of England and Wales, with variable amounts of cloud. Scotland and Northern Ireland have outbreaks of rain which turn heavy in places. At times they could extend into northern England.

Outlook: Southern and central areas start fine, and it could become very hot in southern, central and eastern England. Temperatures possibly reach 36°C locally on Wednesday. The north has more changeable conditions with further showery spells of rain and much lower temperatures. Developments then become uncertain as cooler air starts returning southeastwards.
