Temperatures dip in the east this weekend By Brian Gaze [Published 08:00 11/07/2026] The weekend is set to bring a lot of fine weather, but there will be some differences compared to recent days. Notably, temperatures dip in the east due to a northeasterly wind. However, heatwave conditions are likely to persist across large areas. Next week the forecast becomes more uncertain, with an increasing risk of thundery downpours but also the potential for higher temperatures, at least for a time. 14 day weather forecast video Issued 8th July 2026 Cooler in the east Showery outbreaks of rain affect Scotland, but elsewhere it will be another dry day. Near the east coast low cloud may be stubbornly persisten, while temperatures more widely across eastern and central areas will be a little lower than in recent days. Nonetheless, in the sunshine it continues to feel very warm or hot. Temperatures vary a lot across the UK. In Scotland 15°C to 20°C, in eastern England the low 20°Cs, but in much of the south and west between 28°C and 34°C. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view. However, it is likely to remain cloudier and cooler near to the east coast again. There is also a possibility of thundery showers pushing into the south west, but confidence in this happening is low. Outlook: A good deal of fine weather is expected. However, the risk of thundery showers is likely to increase in the south for a time.
