Heatwave conditions continue By Brian Gaze [Published 06:40 09/07/2026] Temperatures again push well into the 30s today as the heatwave, which has already been affecting southern and central areas for a number of days, continues. Tomorrow could be the hottest day of this spell. At the weekend a northeasterly breeze develops, lowering temperatures by a few degrees in the east. 14 day weather forecast video Issued 8th July 2026 Exceptionally hot Virtually the whole of the UK has a dry day. Long sunny periods develop, especially in southern and central areas. The cloudiest skies are likely in the far north west, where there could also be patchy spells of rain at times. It will become very hot in eastern Wales and England, with temperatures peaking close to 36°C. Elsewhere it will be warm or very warm, once again with the exception of the far north west. However, it will be cooler than recently in the east, while temperatures in Wales, central England and south-west England once again exceed 30°C. Outlook: A good deal of fine weather is expected across the UK. However, temperatures in the north and east remain lower as somewhat cooler air feeds in from the north east.
