Outbreaks of rain push across the northern half of the UK and northern Wales. Showery spells of rain are also possible in the south east, but elsewhere it will be dry and bright.

Tonight:
Showery rain continues in the north. Later in the night it becomes heavier and more persistent in Northern Ireland and western Scotland. In other areas it remains dry and muggy.

Tomorrow:
Heavy spells of rain continue in the north west of the UK, with wet conditions extending into western Wales. Elsewhere, it will be dry. In central and eastern England it becomes hot and temperatures could locally reach 32°C.

Saturday: Rain steadily clears from the north to leave dry conditions across the UK. Cloud in southern and central areas breaks and it turns warm in the afternoon sunshine.

Outlook: Fine conditions are expected across most of the UK on Sunday, and in southern and central Britain it becomes hot. In the following days a good deal of dry and sunny weather is likely, although conditions will vary. Rain is most likely in the north west, but there is a chance of thunderstorms in the south and east.
