Very warm in central and eastern England

Drizzle or light rain affects north western parts of the UK at times. In other areas it will be dry with sunny periods, the best of them in the south and east of England where it becomes hot.

Tonight:
Outbreaks of rain in the north west become heavier and more persistent.  The rest of the UK will be dry with clear periods.

Tomorrow:
Thicker cloud brings continues bringing patchy outbreaks of rain to northern and western Scotland. Elsewhere it will be dry with long sunny periods, especially in the southern half of the UK. Generally warm or very warm, but hot in the south east and East Anglia, where temperatures peak around 30°C.

Monday: Patchy rain remains a risk in northern and western Scotland, but elsewhere it will be fine. Computer models are signalling that temperatures could reach 34°C, comfortably setting a new May temperature record if correct. 

Outlook: Very warm or hot conditions continue early on, with the potential for more more record breaking heat. However, there will still be day to day variability, with the possibility of patchy spells of rain at times in northern and western Scotland. Also, temperatures are expected to dip as the week progresses, although there is uncertainty about the timing of this.
