The weather will remain changeable in the coming days with temperatures often below the seasonal average. There is still a risk of frost which could cause serious problems for gardeners and farmers.

Patchy spells of rain push southwards through the day. By late afternoon they will be affecting the south east and East Anglia. Brighter conditions will follow in other areas, but showers develop in the north. Quite windy.

Tonight:Bands of heavy showers spread southeastwards across the UK. Cloud cover will keep it milder than in recent nights, although a touch of frost is possible in some northern locations.

Thursday: Another blustery and showery day is expected. Temperatures remain on the low side for the time of the year.
Outlook: Changeable conditions continue in the coming days, with showers and longer spells of rain remaining possible across much of the UK. That said, there are signs that a weak ridge of high pressure could bring drier conditions for a time at the weekend. Temperatures remain below average for the time of year.
