Storm Goretti will bring heavy rain, disruptive snow and strong winds to parts of the UK through today and into tomorrow. Quieter conditions return on Saturday, but on Sunday another band of rain moves in from the west, likely preceded by a period of sleet and snow in central and northern areas.

The northern half of the UK has a mostly dry day, although there could be a few wintry showers in coastal counties.
Cold. Temperatures range from 1°C in the far north to 5°C in the south and 12°C in the south west. Check the weather radar for the most up-to-date view.
