During the next few days it will remain dry in most of the UK. However, there is a growing risk of scattered showers, initially in the west and then perhaps extending more widely across the south.
In the longer term there are growing signs of a change. High pressure is forecast to decline, leading to an increased likelihood of areas of low pressure beginning to move towards the UK. These could bring the potential for heavy showers and longer outbreaks of rain.
