Weather fronts will slowly move in from the Atlantic, pushing eastward through this weekend and the early part of next week. However, they will be weakening and amounts of rain in southern and eastern counties are expected to be very small. In the longer term there are indications of a colder easterly flow developing, but forecast confidence is low at this range. (If you would like to browse the website without adverts and access premium features, see below)

Tonight, outbreaks of rain spread across Northern Ireland and much of western Britain. Central and eastern areas remain dry and rather chilly, with patchy frost.

Tomorrow, outbreaks of rain fade away as they edge southward and eastward across Wales and northern England. To their south and east, it stays dry and sunny intervals develop. Drier conditions return to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Breezy. Temperatures will be similar to those of recent days.

Rain fading as spreads southeastwards

During the early part of next week, a band of rain weakens as it slowly pushes southeastward. Areas to the north and south of it will be mostly dry with variable amounts of cloud. Patchy frost and fog continue to be a risk, with daytime temperatures generally fluctuating around the average for early February.

In the longer term, there are indications of it turning colder. However, at this stage it is too early to be confident about possible developments or whether there will be a risk of snow.
