Weather fronts will slowly move in from the Atlantic, pushing eastward through this weekend and the early part of next week. However, they will be weakening and amounts of rain in southern and eastern counties are expected to be very small. In the longer term there are indications of a colder easterly flow developing, but forecast confidence is low at this range. UK Met UKV, Sunday 2nd February [Tap animation to toggle cities]
During the early part of next week, a band of rain weakens as it slowly pushes southeastward. Areas to the north and south of it will be mostly dry with variable amounts of cloud. Patchy frost and fog continue to be a risk, with daytime temperatures generally fluctuating around the average for early February.
In the longer term, there are indications of it turning colder. However, at this stage it is too early to be confident about possible developments or whether there will be a risk of snow.
