The UK remains under a northerly flow today, but changes are on the way. Tomorrow a weak ridge of high pressure builds over the UK, but by Thursday an area of low pressure will be pushing in from the Atlantic. It brings the likelihood of showers, longer spells of rain and strong winds. Tonight the showers become more scattered. Clear periods lead to a cold night, particularly in the north and west where locally temperatures could dip below freezing point.
Tomorrow a weak ridge of high pressure builds in from the west. Therefore, showers will be increasingly confined to eastern counties of England, with much of the rest of the UK remaining dry. Temperatures remain below the seasonal norm.

The next few days see a change in the weather taking place. On Thursday an area of low pressure pushes in from the Atlantic and it brings outbreaks of rain to much of the UK. The following days are looking very mixed, with an ongoing risk of showers or longer spells of rain. During wet spells it will be cool, but in sunny spells it is likely to be warmer than recently.
