The next few days bring more unsettled weather. However, a spell of warmer and drier conditions is likely to develop during the second half of the week as high pressure builds from the south. Will it last for long? Probably not if computer models are correct. Issued 4th April 2024
Monday starts with outbreaks of rain in northern Wales and parts of northern England. In other areas it is dry.
As the day progresses the area of rain continues to edge northwards, but it becomes more showery. However, further outbreaks of rain spread northeastwards this afternoon across the southern half of Britain and possibly Northern Ireland. Scotland remains dry and bright.
Temperatures range from 9°C in the far north to 18°C in eastern England. You can check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight showers or longer spells of rain affect most of the UK at times. The driest conditions will be eastern counties, with the wettest ones in the north. Windy, particularly in southern and western coastal counties where gales are likely.
Tomorrow the heavy showers and longer spells of rain gradually clear eastwards. Brighter skies follow from the west, but scattered showers develop and in the far east it may not turn drier until the evening.
The mixed theme continues on Wednesday. Outbreaks of rain push eastwards, becoming heavy in the north. In southern Britain, the rain will be patchier and it could stay mostly dry in East Anglia and the southeast. Windy.
A change begins taking place on Thursday as high pressure builds from the south. There could be some patchy rain in the south east early on and in the north west throughout the day. However, much of the UK will be dry with variable amounts of cloud. In sunny spells it turns becomes quite warm.
Friday is currently forecast to be dry, bright and warm in southern and central regions. In the north and especially the north west there is a greater risk of cloud and patchy outbreaks of rain.
