Unsettled weather continues this week with areas of low pressure continuing to dominate. Therefore, all regions will have showers or longer spells of rain at times. However, temperatures are expected to rise towards the weekend and in sunny spells it is likely to feel warm, especially in eastern England. (If you would like to browse the website without adverts and contribute to its ongoing development, explore the payment options, see below)

Tonight the mixed picture continues. Showery rain pushes northeastwards across England and Wales, possibly reaching Northern Ireland too. Scotland has further showers which continue to be wintry over the mountains.

Tomorrow, the wettest conditions are expected to be in northern England, Northern Ireland and the southern half of Scotland. In southern and central Britain heavy showers are likely in the morning, but they become more scattered and lighter in the afternoon. Northern Scotland may remain mostly dry.

Unsettled but some warmth to be found

The unsettled weather is forecast to continue on Thursday. Showers or longer spells of rain may occur in much of the UK. Nonetheless, it could feel quite warm in southern counties if sunny periods develop.

During Friday showers or longer spells of rain affect much of the UK. The rain could be heavy, especially in the west and it remains cold enough for snow over the Scottish mountains. It is likely to be windy.

Saturday could see warm sunny spells developing central and eastern counties. Elsewhere, there is a likelihood of showers or longer spells of rain.
