Tonight, showery outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow push eastwards across England and Wales. Snow is most likely in central and northern areas, with significant accumulations possible. In the south, precipitation is more likely to fall as rain. Scotland and Northern Ireland should be mostly dry and clear periods lead to a widespread frost. In the Scottish glens temperatures could plunge to -15°C.
Tomorrow, the initial area of rain, sleet and snow clears eastwards. However, further showery spells of rain are expected to push eastwards across southern and central counties. The north has a dry and very cold day. In the south temperatures are expected to be higher than recently.
During Monday outbreaks of rain are forecast to push eastwards across southern and central counties. On their back edge some wet snow is possible over high ground. The rain probably continues in central and eastern regions into the afternoon. The northern half of the UK will have sunny spells, but wintry showers are likely in the east. Cold.
