High pressure dominates in early October By Brian Gaze [Published 06:30 01/10/2026] There will be some rain in central and northern areas during the coming days, but in the south, high pressure is expected to keep it settled. Some warm days are expected, but the rapidly lengthening nights and dry ground mean the potential for rather cold nights could quickly increase. In most places it remains dry, but later this afternoon outbreaks of rain start pushing across Northern Ireland. Temperatures range from 13°C in the north to 22°C in East Anglia.
