Becoming very warm in the south

Patchy outbreaks of rain in the south push northwards, while sunny spells develop in their place. It will become very warm in the south, with temperatures possibly reaching 28°C locally. However, wet and windy weather pushes eastwards across much of the UK tonight.

Rain spreading northwards

Showery spells of rain in the south spread northwards through the day. Sunny spells develop in England and it becomes very warm. In Wales and the northern half of the UK it will be mostly overcast, and later this afternoon persistent outbreaks of rain start pushing into the south west.

Tonight:
Wet and windy weather pushes eastwards across much of the UK, although it is likely to remain dry in much of the east until the morning. The rain will be heavy and squally at times, but clearer skies are expected to return to Northern Ireland and south western of Britain by the morning.

Tomorrow:
The band of rain clears eastwards, though it probably lingers in East Anglia, the south east and eastern Scotland until well into the afternoon. Brighter skies follow but there will be showers in the north and west. Windy.

Thursday: A dry day with sunny spells in much of the UK, but there will be scattered showers. More persistent spells of rain could push into Northern Ireland in the afternoon.

Outlook: Some rain is likely, particularly in the north and west. However, high pressure building from the south is expected to bring another period of increasingly settled conditions, at least in southern and central regions. In sunny spells, it will feel quite warm.
