Mixed weather this week

A mixed bag of weather is on the way this week. Initially, it will become warm in southern and central regions, with some computer models suggesting that Tuesday could produce the latest tropical night ever recorded in the UK. It then turns unsettled as wet and windy conditions push eastwards. Later in the week high pressure returns.

Dry in most of the UK

Scattered showers continue in the north west of the UK through the day. In most other areas it will be dry, but there is a risk of outbreaks of rain pushing across the south eastern corner at times. 

Temperatures range from 12°C in the north to 20°C in the south. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight:
Heavy bursts of rain spread northwards across much of England and western Wales, in place they could turn thundery. Elsewhere, it remains dry and locally in Scotland ground frost develops.

Tomorrow:
Showery rain becomes lighter as it pushes northwards into Scotland. Dry conditions follow it, but in the late afternoon outbreaks of rain begin pushing into south western Britain. Very warm in southern and central areas.

Wednesday: MA band of rain pushes eastwards across all areas. Brighter skies follow, but there will be showers in the north and west. Windy.

Outlook: After a rather changeable start with showery rain in places, high pressure builds from the south. It brings a return to more settled conditions, at least in southern and central regions. In sunny spells it will feel quite warm.
