Rain fading away as it edges southwards

Wet weather in northern and western areas fades away today. The weekend is looking mixed, with mostly dry conditions tomorrow, but rain pushing in from the west on Sunday. A more settled picture returns by Monday, but a deep area of low pressure in the Atlantic is likely to bring more unsettled conditions by midweek.

Warm in the south

Outbreaks of rain in northern and western areas fade away as they push southeastwards. In much of the south and south east it remains dry with sunny spells, although cloud amounts will increase. In the north it turns drier and brighter.

Tonight:
Patchy outbreaks of rain push into the north west. In most of the rest of the UK it remains dry, although there could be some showery rain in Wales and north western England.

Tomorrow:
Mostly fine weather is expected. However, thicker could bring drizzle to western areas, and more prolonged outbreaks of rain may push into the far north west at times.

Sunday: Heavy spells of rain push across much of the north and west. Central and eastern counties of England are likely to remain dry and rather warm.

Outlook: A lot of dry weather is likely early in the week. However, the chance of showers, longer spells of rain and strong winds increases mid-week as a deep area of low pressure begins encroaching from the west. It could be warm at times in central and eastern England.
