Fine weather in much of the UK

Wet weather affects the northwest of the UK today, but elsewhere it will be fine. Overnight, the area of rain begins to fragment as it pushes southeastwards. Tomorrow is looking notably warm in the south and East Anglia, locally temperatures could reach 28°C.

Fine in much of the UK

Heavy outbreaks of rain will be slow moving in northern and western Scotland, and western parts of Northern Ireland. Elsewhere it will be dry with variable amounts of cloud.

Tonight:
Outbreaks of rain fragment as they move southeastwards across the northern half of the UK. Clearer skies follow into the north, but there will be a few showers in western Scotland. In much of southern and central Britain it remains dry.

Tomorrow:
Rain in central areas steadily fades away. In the south it is likely to be very warm in sunny spells. Much of the north has a dry day, but there will be quite a lot of cloud, and patchy outbreaks of rain push into the northwest.

Saturday: Patchy outbreaks of rain continue in the north west. Elsewhere it will be dry with variable amounts of cloud. Cooler in the south than recently.

Outlook: A transition to more unsettled weather is expected to develop through the coming days. The wettest conditions are likely to be in the west, and there is uncertainty about the extent of the rain risk in the east. It’s also possible that it could turn very warm and humid, at least for a time, in the south and east. Strong winds are also probable.
