Mixed but often dry in the south

The autumn equinox is at 1:04am tomorrow, but the coming days will often be more summer-like in the south, while changeable conditions bring outbreaks of rain to central and northern areas.

Rain in the north west

Outbreaks of rain affect Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Thicker cloud could also bring a few spots of rain to western parts of Britain, but elsewhere it will be dry. Sunny spells develop in the south and east.

Temperatures range from 13°C in the north west to 25°C in the south. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight:
Rain becomes heavy and persistent in the north west before steadily spreading eastwards. By morning, it is likely to be wet across much of central and northern Britain, but particularly in the west. Much of the south remains dry, while drier conditions return to Northern Ireland too.

Tomorrow:
Heavy outbreaks of rain in central and northern areas clear eastwards, with brighter conditions following. The south has a mostly dry and bright day. Quite warm in the south.

Thursday: Most areas have a dry day with variable amounts of cloud. However, outbreaks of rain push into the far north west.

Outlook: Wet and windy weather will affect the north west of the UK at times. Elsewhere, the emphasis is on dry conditions with sunny spells, although bands of cloud spreading southeastwards could bring some light rain at times. It will often feel warm in southern and central areas.
