Warmer September continues this week

The south will have plenty of dry and warm weather this week, while conditions in the north remain more changeable. September has been another warm month so far, with the provisional Central England Temperature (CET) to the 19th at 16.5°C, which is 2.3°C above the 1991–20 average.

Mostly dry and bright

Patchy outbreaks of rain in the north west steadily fade away. The rest of the UK has a dry day, with the sunniest conditions in southern and eastern counties.

Temperatures range from 13°C in the north west to 23°C in the south east. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight:
Dry in most of the UK. However, thicker cloud could bring drizzle in the north west, and later on more persistent outbreaks of rain push into western Scotland and possibly Northern Ireland.

Tomorrow:
Outbreaks of rain affect Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland, at times they become heavy. In other parts of the UK it will be mostly dry, bright and warm, although there could be a few spots of rain in western Wales. Temperatures in southern and eastern England push into the mid 20Cs.

Wednesday: An area of rain in central and northern areas clears eastwards, with brighter conditions following. The south has a dry and bright day. Warm in the south.

Outlook: Rather changeable conditions are likely. However, rainfall amounts in the south probably remain small. Temperatures dip back towards the late September average.
