Heavy outbreaks of rain will push eastwards and ease today. Over the next few days further spells of rain are expected in northern England, Wales and Northern Ireland. To the south it will remain dry and very warm, with temperatures climbing into the mid-20s Celsius. However, during the weekend much cooler conditions push southwards, and heavy rain is possible.

Heavy outbreaks of rain steadily push northeastwards, becoming lighter as they do so. Drier conditions will return to much of the UK this afternoon, although patchy spells of rain continue to affect the south and the northern half of Scotland. Windy.

Tonight:Patchy outbreaks of rain are likely in central England and Wales, where they may be heavy at times. Blustery showers will push into central and western Scotland, but most other parts of the UK will remain mostly dry.
Tomorrow:Outbreaks of rain will edge northwards into northern England, Northern Ireland, and northern Wales. A good deal of dry weather is expected elsewhere. It will be windy, particularly in northern Scotland. In central and eastern counties, it will feel quite warm in any sunny spells that develop.

Friday:
Outbreaks of rain continue in northern England, Northern Ireland and southern Scotland. To the south it will be dry and potentially very warm. If sunny spells develop in central and eastern counties temperatures could reach 27°C. Windy and showery in Scotland.
Outlook:
During the weekend cooler air pushes southwards. There is potential for wet and windy conditions to affect much of the UK as an area of low pressure deepens, although details remain uncertain.
Early next week the risk of showers or longer spells of rain continues in the south, while the north is expected to become mostly dry. Conditions will be rather cool, with a risk of nighttime ground frosts in the northern half of the UK.
