Showers incoming. Posted by Windy Willow

The coming days will bring showers, prolonged periods of rain and strong winds. These autumnal conditions are being driven by an active jet stream tracking close to or just south of the country. It will continue to act as a conveyor belt, steering low pressure systems and their associated weather fronts towards the UK.

Rather cool. Temperatures range from 12°C in the north west to 19°C in the south east. Check the recently upgraded weather radar for the most up-to-date view.

Storm Amy inbound?

Saturday:

Heavy showers are expected in much of the UK. Windy and rather cool generally.

Outlook:

Unsettled conditions are forecast across all areas over the coming days. On Sunday there is a risk of wet and windy weather spreading across much of the UK. While forecast details remain uncertain, strong winds are likely, with the possibility of gales in some areas.

Early next week is expected to be showery, but there are indications of another deep area of low pressure moving in from the Atlantic by Wednesday. It brings the potential for another very wet and windy period.
