Tonight: Dry with clear periods. In southern and central regions it will remain warm and in a few places temperatures may not dip below 20°C, making for a what is termed a tropical night.
Tomorrow: Fine weather continues across the UK. The heat will be spreading northwards, so even in north eastern Scotland temperatures could reach 28°C. In England and Wales maximum values are likely to be close to 33°C.
UKV, Friday 11th July [Tap animation to toggle cities]
Very warm or hot conditions continue across the UK this weekend. The highest temperatures are expected in central and western counties of England and in eastern Wales. However, temperatures around 30°C are likely to be reached quite widely, possibly even in parts of northeastern Scotland. Most areas remain dry and bright, although a few showers may develop in the north on Sunday.
By early next week forecast confidence becomes very low and a range of scenarios is possible. Temperatures are likely to dip, although it could remain very warm in central and eastern England.
