The weekend will be dry in much of the UK and in sunny spells it will feel warm. Early next week temperatures continue to rise, probably peaking on Tuesday when 30°C may be reached locally. However, there are signs of it turning more changeable through the middle of the week with thundery downpours developing as pressure falls. Issued 4th June 2024
The general theme for the next few days is for there to be a good deal of dry and warm weather. Despite that, there is some patchy rain in the south this morning. It should clear quite quickly and all regions will then be dry and sunny for a time, but this afternoon cloud and patchy spells of rain push into western Scotland.
Temperatures range from 16°C in the north west to 24°C in eastern England. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight, there could be some light and patchy rain in the northern half of the UK. The south remains dry.
Tomorrow, there could be a few spots of rain in central areas, but cloud cover should break to leave sunny spells in all regions. In central and eastern counties it becomes very warm.
UK Met UKV, Sunday 23rd June [Tap animation to toggle cities]
The early part of next week is looking fine and very warm or hot in large parts of the UK. There is still uncertainty about the details, with computer models suggesting an area of rain is likely to affect the north west on Monday and western and northern areas more generally on Tuesday. Through the middle of the week an area of low pressure may bring more changeable conditions to southern and central regions. Thundery downpours could develop.
