Outbreaks of rain clear from northern Scotland this morning, leaving a mix of sunny spells and showers across the UK. The showers could turn heavy and thundery at times, but there will be quite a lot of dry weather around.

Tonight, areas of showery rain affect parts of the UK. Nonetheless, there will also be dry periods too and locally in the north there could be a touch of ground frost.

Tomorrow brings a mix of sunny spells and showers to most areas. However, there is a risk of more prolonged outbreaks of rain spreading westwards across Scotland.

Changeable weather continues

Conditions remain changeable over the next few days, with showers or longer spells of rain in all areas. Towards the middle of next week there are tentative signs of high pressure starting to build in from the west. It could bring drier and more settled weather for a time.
