Weather forecast discussion

Thursday begins with showery outbreaks of rain in northern Wales and the northern half of the UK. To the south it is mostly dry.

Showery spells of rain continue in the north through the day. Although they steadily become more intermittent there will be further heavy outbreaks at times. In most of the southern Britain it stays mostly dry and some bright spells are likely to develop after a murky start.

Temperatures range from 12°C in the north to 18°C in the south east. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Bank holiday weekend prospects

Saturday should be dry in and quite warm much for the UK but there will be exceptions. Showers are possible in the east and it is likely to turn wet in south western Britain and Northern Ireland in the afternoon. The rest of the bank holiday weekend brings a mix of sunny spells and showers, some of which could be heavy and thundery.
