Tonight the rain eases to leave a mostly dry picture. Temperatures widely remain in double figures.

Tomorrow, heavy showers return to southern and central Britain. At times they could merge to give longer spells of rain, particularly in central and eastern counties. There will also be scattered showers in Northern Ireland and western Scotland, but other areas remain dry.

Driest in the north

Showers continue on Friday in southern and central regions, but they are expected to be more scattered than recently. In northern Britain and Northern Ireland it is likely to stay fine and this is where the highest temperatures could be.

Saturday could see the showers becoming heavier and more widespread. Nonetheless, in areas where sunny periods develop it will be quite warm.

Computer models are indicating that Sunday will deliver more of the same. Therefore, expect warm sunny spells but also heavy showers in southern and central counties.
