However, the combination of the 100m to 180m elevation and being away from the urban heat island means snow is a noticeably more frequent occurrence than it is in London. By Brian Gaze10th December 2017 A wintry looking Grand Union canal which runs through Berkhamsted Heavy snow December 2017 On 10th December 2017 Berkhamsted had its heaviest snowfall since December 2010. A level depth of approximately 14cm of snow was recorded in the fields on the outskirts of the town. Below is a selection of pictures showing the snow which were taken around the town.
