Heavy outbreaks of rain push northwards across central and eastern Britain today. In the west brighter conditions develop but there will be scattered showers. Sunday starts very wet in much of central and eastern England. Elsewhere it is mostly dry.

Through the day, the heavy outbreaks of in central and eastern counties steadily push northwards. By mid afternoon they should only be affecting north eastern Britain. In other areas sunny intervals develop, but showery spells of rain push into Northern Ireland.

Temperatures range from a very cold 7°C in the wet areas to 13°C in the west. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight the remnants of the rain in the north east clear, but wet conditions in Northern Ireland will slowly push into western England and Wales. Other areas remain mostly dry.

Tomorrow outbreaks of rain continue in much of the north and west. Areas to the south and east stay mostly dry and temperatures will be higher than recently.

Temperatures climbing

Tuesday is expected to be quite mixed. Outbreaks of rain are most likely to affect Northern Ireland and western Britain. Central and eastern counties will have bright spells, but there could be a few showers dotted around. Feeling warm in the sunshine.

Wednesday is expected to be quite warm. There is a risk of heavy and thundery showers in England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland should be mostly dry.

Thursday will probably be dry in the north. In the south there is a risk of showers or longer spells of rain.
