Very mild and changeable weather continues through the next few days. However, there are signs of it turning colder by Friday as a northwesterly flow pushes down across the UK. Over high ground in the north the risk of sleet and snow is likely to return. (If you would like to browse the website without adverts and contribute to its ongoing development, explore the payment options, see below)

Tonight, outbreaks of rain move across northern and western areas. The rain will be quite patchy, but some heavy bursts are likely to be mixed in. In central and south eastern England it remains dry. Very mild, but windy in the north.

Tomorrow morning will be mostly dry with sunny spells in central and northern parts of the UK. In the south there will be a lot of cloud and there could be a few spots of rain. Through the afternoon the cloudier skies extend northwards and outbreaks of rain push into the south west. Very mild.

Colder by the weekend

During Wednesday patchy spells of rain push eastwards across Wales and central counties of England. To the north it should be dry and bright. Much of southern England could also stay dry and in any bright spells which develop it will feel very mild.

Thursday will probably be dry and very mild in much of the UK. However, there is a risk of showery rain in the north.

A change begins to take place on Friday. A band of rain pushes southeastwards and colder air from the northwest follows. In the northern half of the UK showers may turn wintry over high ground. Southern England could remain dry and very mild.
