High pressure continues to be the dominant feature of the weather so it will be dry in most of the UK today. The exception is the far north west where disturbances moving in from the Atlantic bring a risk of rain. Tomorrow it's more of the same, but through the second half of the week outbreaks of rain probably push southeastwards across all regions.

Tuesday begins overcast in the much of the UK. In the north there are a few spots of rain in places.
Through the day most of the country remains dry, but there is a risk of outbreaks of rain in northern and western Scotland. Some bright intervals develop, with the best of them probably in Wales and western England.
Temperatures range from 12C (54F) in the north to 20C (68F) in the south west. See the rain radar for the latest view.
Tonight not much changes. It stays wet in the far north west, but elsewhere it will be mostly dry. Clear periods in southern and central regions allow it to become quite chilly in rural areas.
Tomorrow it's a similar story. Intermittent outbreaks of rain continue in northern and western Scotland. There could also be drizzle in other parts of northern Britain. Areas further south stay dry and there should be pleasantly warm sunny intervals. Temperatures generally a little higher than today's.
During Thursday outbreaks of rain push southeastwards. There is still uncertainty about their rate of progression, but by the evening they will probably be pushing down across northern England and northern Wales. To their north it turns brighter and cooler. To their south a lot of cloud is expected, although a few sunny spells are possible.
Through Friday spells of rain become slow moving over the southern half of Britain and there could be some heavy bursts mixed in. Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland have sunny spells and showers. Cool in the wet areas.
The weekend is looking mixed. Saturday could see wet weather continuing in central and eastern England. In other areas it should be mainly dry and bright. After a dry start on Sunday it may turn wet and windy in the north.
