Areas of low pressure will bring mixed weather to the UK during the next few days. Showers or longer spells of rain are likely in most areas at times, but there will also be dry and bright periods. Next week the mixed theme continues, but it may turn warmer. Friday starts with scattered showers in central and northern areas. In southern Britain it is mixed picture with rain in places.
Through the day outbreaks of rain extend across parts of the south, with some heavy bursts in the south west this afternoon. The wet conditions will mostly stay to the south of London. Other parts of the UK have sunny spells and showers.
Temperatures range from 8°C to 13°C in the south. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight outbreaks of rain continue to affect southern England and southern Wales. In other areas showers fade away and clear periods allow temperatures to dip sharply. In the north quite a widespread frost develops.
Tomorrow morning outbreaks of rain in the south clear eastwards. However, in the afternoon further heavy and thundery showers push up from the south. Northern Britain and Northern Ireland have a few showers, but there will be dry and sunny periods too.
Sunday is looking very mixed. Showers or longer spells of rain are expected in much of the south and east of Britain. In western Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales longer dry periods are likely. Nonetheless, even in those areas the possibility of showers or longer spells of rain are not discounted yet.
Rain spreads across northern and western areas on Monday. To the south and east it remains dry and it will be warmer than recently.
By Tuesday low pressure is expected to be centred close to Ireland, but there is uncertainty about the details. Showers or longer spells of rain are most likely in the west, with a greater chance of dry periods in the east. The low pressure will be pulling up some warm air ahead of it, therefore it could be rather warm in the east.
